Tancho, got her 2 month ago from petsmart 4" $4.95 today 5" She got some 2nd hi, hope that goes away

妃子 finally is 10" pretty color.. surely is male.

龙袍 is 14" Yeeee~!

I started feed my own home made koi food starting september for several weeks, and Utsuri is 12"

Just measured 龙袍和小红嘴, 13" and 9" This summer, I feed them with Koi Chow, maybe its not a good brand (someother dealer is saying that). I started make my own koi food, shrimp, fish, seaweed, egg, yeast and flower, peas.. hope that will increase the growth rate.



We also start to buy petsmart koi, few Japanese koi did not turn to be too good, 贵妃 lost all her beni. 妃子didn't grown too much compare with others. On the other hand, Rosevill is big and beautify now, so is Arden and little sanke. So we brought two additional hope to be Showa someday.

Geisha is 12" which I think 5" growth in 10 month is not too bad.


Shiro Utsuri now is 11" (5" growth from March). Its very yellow due to Koi Chow. I am hoping it will whiteout during the winter.


Arden is 9 1/2". the head is pointy, and body is too fat.



Champion is 11". Hopefully it won't lose its beni. The white skin is beautiful

Little Sanke, have to say, I like him the best. But he looked like a boy, had this "Male" things in the back, but should he be more red for male? 8"

Its May now.

Several things happened here.

1. Last Thursday, my yellow butterfly (黄袍）disappeared without any trace. I thought it was some kind of bird, but Kai didn't agree. Friday afternoon around 3:30pm, I step out to the backyard, to my surprise, I saw a great blue heron, 4 feet tall... big big, bird standing between the pond and swimming pool. So, we found the guilty one! Now the pond is netted. This is the first time I saw a wild GB heron IN MY OWN BACKYARD.

2. I got my best koi ever. It was from Alice, Edward as a mother day gift. Edward cooked breakfast and Alice cooked lunch. My best mother's day ever.

last week, 大帅 jumped out

One day, he got stuck between the rock and wounded himself. So I　put him into my hospital tank, after 5 days treatment, he started to look better, but jumped out (even I netted)... So, I buried him in our back yard, under the maple tree.

Today we went bay area again, because TangYing bought a new house. We visit ChampKoi, they had many new Tosai.. and .. I knew I shouldn't, but bought this sanke (

All my koi are doing good now. Just treated 贵妃，大帅。。The standard treatment for me is 1. a 5 min PP dip (kills all external parasites and some viral) 2. send them to the hospital tank with .4% - .6% salt and amoxicillin for 5 days. So far, its has been successful.
