Rachael is no happy about my attention towards koi.

All my koi are doing good now. Just treated 贵妃，大帅。。The standard treatment for me is 1. a 5 min PP dip (kills all external parasites and some viral) 2. send them to the hospital tank with .4% - .6% salt and amoxicillin for 5 days. So far, its has been successful.

Geisha is 9 1/2 inch... I think "She" is a male (finshed so early)

Modified my filter

I guess my fancy idea about bio filter box in the prefilter container doesn't work. Removed bio filter box, and put bio media directly in my 150 gallon prefilter which also has anoxic pot (liter clay + laterite + some plants). Increased water flow through filter box.. (2000+ gallon/hr). Amazingly, my ammonia reading is down almost to 0..

PSKOI owner went to Japan 1 month ago. He has already quarantined his fish for 2 weeks. I cannot wait for another few weeks. So, Hubby drove me to PS KOI on Sunday...Shopping!!!!!
Lemon Hariwake, $50. I have been looking for one for a long time. This one's color is a little too dard. 7" long.

Shiro Utsuri 6", good skin quality but seems no black pattern. $50.


Sanke is about 9 inch long, tail's edge is a little off but we got it for $35. She is a nisai. Hope this year it can getting bigger



Today I found my pond's ammonia is .25ppm.. too many fish even though they are still small. I quarantined Shiro and Lemon, put Sanke to the big pond, changed 20% water, added 30lb salt and 16 oz bacteria.... Hope it will help. NO MORE NEW FISH!!!!

bought 36W UV light

My pond is directly exposed to sun light for all day long. With Spring and hot Summer on the way, stronger UV light is definitely needed. Went to Ebay, bought this JeBao 36w UV Clarifier which comes with 2 light bulbs for $99. Seems good deal. Quality of the product is not that great... but last night, I tried to check the UV, seems saw the green light. We will see
